i was walking through TJ Maxx minding my own business when this popped out at me! it's a gorgeous umbrella... totally impractical. my first thought was that this would have been perfect for the vintage shoot johnathan and i did with bree the other week.

it's so so pretty. it was blue satin with bead work and flowers along the edges. $80 if you can believe that! and at a discount store no less!

but oh it was so beautiful. this is why we need to win the lottery; so i can buy totally gorgeous useless things. damn our need to work!

i buy like a gazillion calendars towards the end of the year. this picture in the calendar was actually what made me pay full price for this. i usually have a lighthouse calendar in the bedroom and i'll stare at it for hours. dont know what it is about it.

i was thinking that i'd do the same with this calendar... but nope. i stared at this picture quite a bit but i think this pic out of the whole calendar will most likely get the most staring time.

anyway, it hit me today that april is almost over. just tomorrow left. i usually change the calendar the night before so tonight was the last night for the rest of the year that i'll see this pic. that is until i take it down at the end of the year. sometimes i tear out the pictures and save it if i'm especially fond of it.

but shit. where'd april go?

johnathan had to work like super late tonight. i'm on my own dinner wise.

we went out for mexican last night and it was amazing. i called johnathan today and we talked about it, both agreed that it was amazing and both said at the same time "are you thinking what i'm thinking?"

so we were suppose to go out for mexican food again today but he had to work.

*womp womp womp*

i'm sick of fast food. i feel like i've been living off of it for the past few weeks and it's so not good anymore. i think i'll avoid it like the plague for a while. this includes: sonic, mcdonalds, taco bell, subway, a&w, lotta burger, long john silvers, etc.

we've had this bird bath since we were still renting at sam and mary's house. it's really starting to crack and i think it's because of damn winter's freezing.

i was on my way to meet my carpool and saw like 6 little birds really scrubbing themselves in a puddle in the middle of the road. it was such a cool thing to see and i so wanted to stop and take some pics of it but damn it! i forgot my camera at home. i carry a little point and shoot around with me and i knew that just wouldnt get the shot i wanted. so i had to wait until i got home to revisit the scene... somewhat.

so my tulips that i planted a few years ago are peeking their heads out of the ground. they'll bloom for a bit then die off since the vent thingy for the dryer blows right on them. they're pretty for now though.

awww, my little baby and her monkey toes!

my mom, sister, and her kids came to the dance comotion show and stayed the night last night. toni stayed all day today while my mom "ran errands". so i got to hang out all day at home with my sister and her kids. there was a marathon of "ghost adventures" going on all day. fell asleep for like an hour with it playing in the background and had nightmares about it. =\

anyway, my baby niece recently found her toes. she was hanging on to her binky with her big toe while sucking on the other foot. =)

it was the last night at the dance co-motion showing. saturday night. the crowd was insane. the dancers went all out. so much fun. bittersweet though- such a good show, but the realization of no dancing until september, at the earliest. so much can change between then and now. i would like to choreograph in the fall again but like i said, so much can change.

this is the view from the stage. now imagine it jam packed full of people all staring in rapture of your dance.

and that's what i love about it.

so i feel like i've been driving everywhere lately. the past three weeks has seen me driving my car to work, meetings, rehearsals, and everything else. on top of not having any time to spend with johnathan, i didn't even have time to read my book! *gasp* no time to read my book?

lucky for me the farmington library allows you to download books onto your ipod or mp3 player. johnathan got me this mp3 player a few christmas' ago.

so although i'm driving around lonely, by myself, i'm at least entertained...

okay, dress rehearsal. the night before we had tech rehearsal, this night we had dress rehearsal. we had to come in full costume and run through the entire show twice plus work on the choreographer's dance at the end.

i took this pic of one of my dancers. she's a gorgeous little thing and an amazing dancer. i'm in awe because she's only 16.

i love the way she did her make up for the show. enjoy!

so this evening i had tech rehearsal for the dance show for the fort lewis club, dance co-motion. my piece is in the second half of the show. they split tech rehearsal in half- the first half of the show goes does tech night monday night and the second half tuesday night. my piece was second after intermission.

there was a piece right before mine called "fire flies" and was to the song "fire flies" by owl city. personally, i hate that song. can't stand it. but it seems everyone in dance co-motion loves it. and so a piece was created using that song. it was interesting. ballerinas, what can you say? they bought a pair of pointe shoes and, using their creative sides, decorated it from pink to green with sparklies. i thought they looked pretty cool.

our neighbors got a new horse. i'm kind of glad cuz i always got the feeling that their other horse was lonely. it's kind of funny to watch them because their other horse will nip and keep nipping at this guy until he reacts. then he chases her around the corral.

anyway, he stands at the end of their corral and just watches johnathan's dog who's tied up to the tree. drives the dog crazy and he'll just keep barking and barking cuz he's not used to another horse there.

i watched for a few minutes before i finally walked over and the horse jsut gave me this superior look like "who are you to be breathing my air?" :D

so today, in addition to doing my job at work and covering for a few other people out, i had to cover another event for the drum newspaper. it was some kind of cultural awareness thing for the k-6 grades.

there were stands with several different nations and the kids rotated between each stand every few minutes. outside the hall, there were paper flags hung all over the place that the kids colored which i thought was pretty cool.

i've done sooooo much driving this week for work, it's insane! i've had to put gas in my car twice this week and the week isn't even over yet. i've been getting good mileage on my car; something like 32-33 miles a gallon.

...and people have the nerve to call my car a rez rocket!

so i went to ignacio today, into durango, back to ignacio, then finally home. i was on the line right before the gas light comes on when i left ignacio for aztec. didnt want to put gas in in ignacio because of the crazy prices. made it to the state line where i filled up.

this took a bite out of my bank account. guess that means no eating out tonight. i hope you know i'm sitting here hungry cuz of you, damn gas pump! =(

oh gosh, hard day at work. feels overwhelming at times and it seems especially lately. i try not to complain and i have to work at not complaining about work because i am working. but after some days i have, i just want to be mad at the world.

here she is just giving me her version of therapy. she's such a sweetie when she's not shitting in the house. finally broke her of chewing on my shoes. now if i could walk on the carpet and not have to fear that i'll step in a wet spot three feet deep...

my daddy came home this day. he'll go back to gallup the week after my dance show. i've missed him.

this is his favorite place to eat. aptly named "dad's diner." i clicked this pic real quick while i was waiting to meet up with him and johnathan that evening. it's so silver and reflective that sometimes it's hard to look at.

so i had a bottle of sparkling apple cider left over from a shoot bree did of me and johnathan the day before. we had no tea, juice, or milk in the fridge. nothing except water which i'd been guzzling all day. i have a rule that when i'm at work i don't drink anything except water. then i come home and have juice with dinner. trying to get away from that soda again is hard!

anyway, like i was saying. we didnt have anything to drink except water and i was sick of that.

and this was sitting on the counter...

ps: it is soooo not a good idea to drink a whole bottle of sparkling cider by yourself. i think i was having heart palpitations.

the hat, the vest, the white dress shirt with the rolled up sleeves...! and damn! that wedding ring looks soooo good on him, too. ♥

we usually do laundry on sundays but we had soooo much piled up all over our bedroom that it was a necessity to start on saturday in order to get it all done by monday morning. ugh. i dont know how we have so many clothes that we go three weeks before we actually need to do the laundry! i keep getting rid of clothes left and right and somehow end up with more and more and more. no more clothes for a while!!

johnathan got me this charm for my necklace a while back. said it was the key to his heart and that i have it. it was so cute. the charm itself is really small and dainty. i got him the exact same one and he keeps it with him always. nerds in love, i know. ♥

i have a chain that i switch out between this charm and another one that says "princess" that he got me for my birthday last year. i went looking for it and couldn't find it the chain or the princess charm. makes me think maybe having family over at the house isn't such a good idea from time to time.

some days i wake up and plan what photo i want to try to get that day. alot of the time it doesnt work out. sometimes, you cant plan the perfect photo. sometimes, it just happens.

today, i wondered all day what i'd end up getting pictures of. i came home and took the dog out so she could do her business. i took my camera with me hoping inspiration would hit. i stood outside while roxy peed her little body out then i happened to see this!

out near our irrrigation ditch, we had solar lights set up. most have disappeared but there's still one out there minus the little hat that comes with it. so i started playing around and the dog stuck around.

the first pic is my pic of the day. i just love the whole composition of the reflection. the sky, the way the trees almost look like cherry blossoms, you see the grass, and of course me and roxy.

the second pic i just HAD to put up cuz i think her face is absolutely adorable in it. ♥

today was johnathan's 29th birthday. we went out to dinner for it. went to chilis. honestly, i dont know why out of all the places we could have gone, he wanted to go to chilis. we've gone there for the past three years now for his birthday!

so i mentioned that i went to albuquerque for a training. it was actually a time management class, "how to handle multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines." needless to say, i went for work. i got a lot out of it, in fact, it was probably the best training i've been on. too bad i forgot to get the certificate on the way out damn it!

so i went to albuquerque for a training. got there that evening, checked into my hotel, then went in search of dinner. i passed like 2 mcdonald's but decided on the macaroni grill just cuz i wanted some italian food soooo bad. it sucked. most of it was due to not having johnathan with me.

i know, i'm such a pansie.

so on my way back to the hotel, i broke down and stopped for a mcflurry at mcdonalds. so it wasn't really dinner at window 2 but more like dessert at window 2.

needless to say i felt guilty for all the fattening food i ate that evening.

when i was a little girl, i used to love easter time. not for the eggs or the cookouts but for the peeps. i would wait in anticipation for my dad to come home on the weekends cuz he would always bring like 5 boxes of peeps and he and i would devour them by ourselves since no one else in the family liked them. i remember my older brother always saying "i don't know how you can eat them! they're nothing but sugar."

all the stuff my dad fed me and my little brother... it's a wonder we're not diabetics. i still get these peeps during easter time but after like two i'm about to fall into a diabetic coma.

i've seen the past two years or so that they've had peeps during all the other events of the year. easter is the only one that counts in my mind. i tried halloween peeps... easter still tasted better. dont know if it was all in my head or what.

i remember when i was a little girl, one of my teenage cousins used to get in trouble alot. one night my uncle came to our house and said that my cousin had gone out and hadn't come back. they knew she went drinking with friends but those friends said they dropped her off at my grandma's house. everyone was searching high and low for her. they finally found her...

she had to cut her hair because they couldn't get the burrs out otherwise. burrs became known in our family as "sally's hair rollers".

yesterday it snowed here. it sucked. it'd been so nice for the past week then all of a sudden it just got super cold and started snowing. most of the snow melted right away and today it's bitterly cold but only because of the wind. there's no snow left on the ground but this was still in a pot on my porch. hopefully this is the last snow until next winter.

found out today that a good friend had her baby last night. went by the hospital after work today to see the lil lady. of course, her mama was up moving around, cleaning her hospital room of all things!
