205/365

so a while back... picture 137, i had finished a baby blanket for my older brother's baby. well, we're just waiting for the baby to get here. the doctors told them mid-september then pushed it back to late september. there's today and tomorrow left of september and so far, no baby yet.

anyway, when we came back from our trip and were driving home from phoenix, we stopped in gallup and had lunch with him and his family. we were talking about the baby and he mentioned something about how the doctors still weren't sure if it was a girl or not. i noticed his girlfriend looked down when he mentioned it and didn't contribute anything to the conversation. i think he was grasping at straws because he wanted another boy. i don't think he'd know what to do with a daughter.

so anyway, he was saying how he didn't want to have anything pink for her if it was a girl and how he was going to set up screening at the door and not allow anything pink in the house. at this point i was like "oh crap." the blanket that i had made was mostly pink.

so when we got home, i started on another blanket. finished it yesterday. it's so pretty and the colors work ot perfectly. it's a darker pink- almost a fuschia, and white, and soft yellow. i think this would be a little more appropriate for them.

i should have taken a picture of the blanket but i thought the bag was super cute.

this sucks. the button popped off from my black flats. just last week, the identical white pair did the same thing. and those are the shoes i wear all the time! boooo!

johnathan took me shoe shopping the day after this happened but i didnt want another pair. well.... i do but i dont want to have to look for them. i think i'm just being lazy but these were already broken in. i cant wear them without the button across it because they just flop off my feet.

ugh.

203/365

it's been raining here lately. it's all starting to dry up though. boo! but i heard on the news last night that there's a cold front moving down from canada which should bring some more moisture to us. not much since it's an el nina season but some thundershowers.

anyway, more proof that those rascally raccoons are still looking for a free handout. not here anymore, suckas!

202/365

i was up on campus the other day for rehearsals. orginally, these rehearsals were suppose to be monday mornings. in all the years that i've been in dance comotion, i've never had rehearsals on the weekend. but i really wanted to be in this dance and if it meant driving up to durango on saturday mornings, then so be it.

anyway, i was leaving rehearsals when i saw this van. isn't that interesting? i mean, forget for the moment that it's grafitti and look at it as art. some artist put the time and effort into putting this on his canvas- which happened to be a van.

201/365

college football season is here. the only reason why i know this is because my dad bought this ridiculous red cowboy hat for it. if you, by some very rare chance, didn't know, my dad is a nebraska huskers fan. he played football for the university of nebraska when he was in college. he actually went to one of the bowls, too!

anyway, on top of seeing him wear his bright red cowboy hat out in public, he has his tv blaring the football game. just in case i already didn't know it's football season.

200/365

aww yes, cinnamon rolls. they were alright. we usually get cinnamon rolls from albertson's in farmington when they have like a six pack for a buck. they haven't had any the few times we've been there lately. we ended up getting it out of a pillsbury thing this time around.

199/365

so it's gonna be the 5th week of classes already! i cant believe that! then it's 9 more weeks and the semester is over.

school, this second time around, feels so different from the first time. i dont think that it's the school that's so much different than it is me. is it becuase i'm more mature, more grown up? *scoff* probably not but it's something that's different and i'm thinking it's something to do with me.

aaaaanyway, it rained so much yesterday. it was gorgeous and it smelled soooooo good. colorado is so pretty when it rains. being on campus is like being in a different world.

198/365

so johnathan was bringing in groceries for my dad. well... he attempted to bring in groceries from the trunk of my dad's car. what really happened was be broke the key off in the lock. so he was outside forever trying to get into the trunk cuz my dad has some frozen foods back there. he was like tearing the back seat apart like a raccoon in search of trash!

i went outside to help but it was getting pretty physical out there and i started to head back in when i noticed this lone moth sitting just as pretty as you please by the porch light.

197/365

i love it when it rains. no matter the season!

196/365

we got this spoon when we were in cardiff, wales. i guess wales is pretty well known for their love spoons. the story is that back in the day, when a man wanted to court a woman, he carved her a spoon. depending on how big the spoon was and how intracately carved showed how much he was interested in courting her. if the woman accepted his spoon when he offered it to her, they pretty much got married after that.

there were some really huge spoons and some very awesome ones. we chose this one because the horseshoe of course represents luck but also happiness. the two hearts mean we feel the same about eachothre and they beat in tune. the celtic knot means 'forever' and unending happiness.

195/365

there was this old truck show going on across the river yesterday and today. i'd forgotten about it yesterday and we slept practically the whole day away today. we got there just before everyone was leaving. johnathan is like obsessed with the old ford apaches. i know he wants one really bad. there was one for sale a few weeks ago. the guy wanted so much for it or a trade on a motorcycle. i think if we had a motorcycle johnathan would have thrown it at the man and taken off with the truck.

anyway, this was my fav pic of them all today. i like to think it was more or less the atmosphere of the truck show.

194/365

we were digging through the closet to get my clarinet out. i dont know why but my instrument popped into my head the other day and i just felt like i should start practicing on it again. it's not as hard as i remember it being.

anyway, we found a couple of stuffed animals. tons from valentine's day. it seems like johnathan has bought me a stuffed animal every v-day.

this little guy is my favorite though. i had just gotten two of my wisdom teeth pulled and johnathan was taking me home. we had to stop at walmart to get the pain med prescription filled. i was out of it still (i didn't have a very good reaction to the anasthetic) and passed out in the car. he found this little pink lamb while waiting for the meds. this little guy helped me through all the throwing up and nastiness. ugh, it was miserable and so gross. even now it makes my tummy feel yucky thinking about it.

i was so into the gatorade rain strawberry kiwi then. johnathan bought me a few bottles to comfort me. i drank it but after i healed up i could not drink it again. every time i tasted it, i started gagging. guess it reminded me too much of that time.

johnathan asked me if i was going to give my lamb-y to our baby when we have one. hell no. lamb-y is MINE!

193/365

look at this cool guy. it was parked next to me as i was leaving campus. not everyone is born to be wild but this definitely was.

192/365

we have a bunch of deer that live down here with us. they wonder back and forth between ours and our neighbor's property. anyway, me and roxy were in the kitchen making dinner when we heard noise coming in through the window from the backyard. we looked and it was a baby and mama deer. i grabbed my camera and we headed outside but dang roxy made so much noise she scared them off.

i happened to glance up and saw the leaves changing. not only that but the sun was setting and it made the leaves look like they were on fire. it was gorgeous and only happened for like less than a minute. so lucky to have been there to see it. if i had been even 30 seconds later, i would have missed it!

191/365

i guess i can't ignore it anymore. fall is arriving. fall is okay. winter... BOOOOO!
