105/365

i had met up with riya and toni in albuquerque to go prom dress shopping for riya.
you would think that out of all the stores there in both the malls
that there would be a better selection of dresses in more stores.
although, in their defense, there were several schools in albs that were having their prom.
but still.
the only stores that we found prom dresses were in the department stores.

anyway,
i ended up not getting home until close to 2 in the morning.
my poor doggies were doing the peepee dance in their kennel.
so i took them out and remembered that i hadnt taken my pic for that day.

this was snapped while they did their thing.
it's not very clear because it was late and i was tired
and i didnt really care about what settings i had my camera on at the time.

i distinctly remember this picture. it was towards the end of the semester and i was working with one of my senior sem group members, trying to finish our senior sem papers.

my senior seminar class was really laid back this semester. the professor had to have surgery on some ligaments halfway through the semester and so we missed a lot of class and the projects didn't seem to have very much importance in the end.

we were split into groups to come up with some sort of project. i'll be honest and say that my group's project was pretty lackluster. oh, we had grand projections in the beginning but the end result was kind of meh. we were gonna be working with a photographer in durango. we were supposed to be working closely with her but it ended up being that only one of group members actually met with her and discussed anything.

but what we ended up doing were surveys on campus. seriously, i'd done bigger projects in statistics class than i did in this senior sem class...

anyway, i had gone outside to move my car into a different parking lot and take a quick break before heading back into the computer lab with my group member. i snapped this pic because this sits right outside the library where i was at.

these are some fun people in this pic!
this was at erika's last dance rehearsal
about a week before the dance comotion show.

i'm sure we're missing a couple of people
or there were people who didn't want their pic taken
but this was pretty much the group.

her dance this semester was to
"on her majesty's secret service"
by the propellerheads.
it was a cool little piece that was so well thought out.

i was driving home from durango one night after dance rehearsal.
this was that weird stretch of road right after you get off the hill from cedar hills right before the road curves.
the cops like to hang out on this stretch of road.

i was slowing down (so as not to get pulled over for speeding)
when i glanced to my left and saw this shed thingy all light up.
i turned around and went back.
i had to set my camera on the hood of my car in order to get this shot since it was cold and i was too shakey.

just a pic of my dad's dirty dresser top.

it was easter.
we didn't have any plans
since mike's little one made his arrival
a few days before
and it would have been too much
for them to try to make it up for easter.

so me and john just hung out.
spent as much time together as we could
before he had to head back to page.

i cannot wait until he doesn't have to
go back to that place anymore!

but we had a happy easter with eachother.

it was johnathan's birthday this day.
i asked him what he wanted to do for his birthday
and he said he wanted to go to gallup.
*shrugs shoulders*
not like there's a whole lot to do in dirty gross gallup,
but okay.

we actually took verity, toni's little girl with us.
toni was at brandin's wrestling match and it gets so crowded
at those things.
so we took little girl with us.

we got some mutton before we left farmington.
it was so good.
she chewed on this one piece forever
and actually fell asleep with it in her mouth.
it was gross piece of something by the time we got to gallup.

anyway, we went to the fleamarket.
and everyone there thought she was ours.
in fact, this one lady was badgering us about
"having another baby so she could have a playmate".
ha!

we met up with mike.
they'd just had their little boy two days before
so we got to meet him.
he looked like doby from harry potter.
don't tell him i said that...

stopped by newcomb on the way home
so toni could pick up her little one from us.
took a pic of the old hogan while we were there.

now that i'm thinking about it,
i should have taken a picture of johnathan for his birthday.
i dont think he wanted any pictures...

so a girl that i used to live next door to growing up had a baby recently.
she wanted to do maternity pictures but just didn't have the money.

i offered to do the baby's newborn pics and they could pay me for it when they were able.
i normally don't do that but there's only so long that a baby is a newborn
that i didn't want her to miss out on having her daughter's pics taken simply
because they couldn't afford it.

i was driving up to campus for dance rehearsal
when i saw this on the side of the wall
of a gas station that i pass every day.

there were a bunch of people stopped.
it's right across the street from one of my friend's apartments.
and they happened to be standing out there
talking about it, too.
so i stopped and visited with them.

turns out that the gas station owner
gave these people permission to "grafiti" the side of his wall.
this wasn't the only thing painted on the wall
but it was the coolest piece of art up there.

i later heard that the city was talking about
having it covered up.
i dont know what the word on that is yet.

working on graduation invitations last minute..

i love the new kitty that we got from cardo.
i usually wait until the kitty is about a teenager
before i let him/her start going outside.

but right away this kitty wanted out.
so he goes out with the dogs all the time.
he would run out like he knew what the hell he was doing
then he'd stand at the door two minutes later
crying his dang head off!

anyway,
i was outside with the dogs cleaning up the porch
and getting stuff ready to plant
and this kitty is just chilling in the teapot planter!

i've been lacking in inspiration.
i haven't really been trying with the project
and i feel myself, as well as the project,
getting boring.

i was trying to think outside the box.
i was trying to get a good variety
to the pictures i've been taking.

april 1.
i actually forgot that it was the first.
so this pic was really last minute.
it was the end of march and all the craziness hadn't quite started yet.
i was starting to get tired of class
and just wanted to get the dance comotion show over with, too.
i was ready for school to be done.

so i've had this song stuck in my head the whole
time that this picture was taken.
it's called "egyptic" by beats antique.
really good belly dance song.
i'm actually thinking of using it for some choreography.

this pic was taken in durango.
i'm pretty sure this was the day that i had a showing
for dance comotion and i took ri with me.
we had lunch at old tymers
and as we were leaving i snapped this pic.

so i wasn't even gonna make invitations to my graduations. hell, i wasn't even sure if i wanted to participate in the ceremony.

i'd already done it before AND i still had one more summer class that i needed to finish up before i was entirely done.

but i ended up going along with it. so i had bree take some pictures of me to use for my invitation. this was my picture from the day, below is my favorite picture that bree took of me.

i think i was grabbing some pizza from homeslice in durango before my dance practice.
turned out that that's not such a good idea right before such a strenuous practice.
...
i really did know that...
for real.
i was just running short on time and i was starving and headed back up to campus
for practice and homeslice was just right there with yummy pizza that was
ready to go.

but this is the pizza pan holders that sit right on top of the pizza case.

oh my god. i know it's been forever since i last posted.
i am so far behind it's not even funny!! hopefully, over the next few days i can get caught up
on this blog. i have still been taking pics
and i've been uploading them on facebook.

my schedule has finally slowed down enough that i should have time to post
on a regular basis again.

so this pic was taken during the miss hozhoni pageant.
fort lewis college has a native american representative
that's named miss hozhoni.
they have a competition/pageant that they do every year.
they do several different things in the competition.
i think they have to write an essay,
cook a traditional dish,
perform both a traditional and modern talent.
they're also judged on their speaking skills.

anyway,
this girl sang
"big, blonde, and beautiful" from the play 'hairspray'
for her modern talent.

it was so fun to watch,
this is probably the most serious picture i got of her
since she was all over the place belting out the song.

she didn't end up winning but she was runner up.
