so right after i got my "johnathan" tattoo, i wanted to go right back and get another one! i gave it almost a year to think about what i wanted and where i wanted my next tattoo. i didn't want to have tattoo-er's regret like i've semi-had with my very first one.

my advice for getting a tattoo: know exactly what you want before even stepping foot in a tattoo parlor. with my first tattoo, all i wanted was a tattoo. so i went with a friend to the place in aztec n picked it out right on the spot. i didn't have time to re-think it becuase they did it right there on the spot.

there are times when i almost wish i didn't get it (it's the chinese character for "love" on my spine in the middle of my back). only because i could have used that space in another way. i only plan on getting tattoos on my back where i can cover them up. i have nothing against full sleeve tattoos, in fact, i love them. but i plan on working in an environment that requires professionalism. not that you can't be professional and still have tattoos but lots of places still frown upon that. i think it's starting to change but it's changing too slowly for me.

anyway, here are my new tattoos. the two sparrows represent "love" and "freedom". together they represent for me having the ultimate freedom in being secure in the love you share with someone.
